GUESTS will eat together at a HOST FAMILY’S HOME. The only information they are given is the address, phone number, number of people attending, and what to bring for dinner (i.e., side dish, salad, or dessert). Guests will receive this information via email the week before the event.
The HOST for the evening is responsible for the main course, beverages, and a hospitable home. They too do not know who will be attending, and are only provided the number of guests via email the week prior.
Once a HOST is established and the number of guests is determined for a host family, the guests are assigned. The GUESTS are assigned and grouped based on their stage of life (i.e., young adults, married with children, retired, etc).
GUESTS should arrive at 6:00 pm on Friday. The dinners themselves do not need to be fancy. No one should feel that they must have fine china and crystal. Dinner can be anything from chicken, pasta, burgers, pizza, soup, chili, or tacos! The goal is for people to find common ground and for this evening to be a springboard to build friendships and foster a closer community within Calvary.
When you click to apply, you will be given the option to be a “host” or a “guest.” While we know not everyone is in a position to host, please prayerfully consider being a host if you are able, as this event cannot be successful without enough hosts! By opening your home, we are sure you will be blessed, and your hospitality will bless others.
